Amazing as usual! The entire family are always working hard, fast & with professionalism! The food is amazing, you may have to wait in line about 20min if there too late in the day...but it's worth it! Especially Sunday! That food & dessert makes ya slap yourself it's so good! Baked chicken & dressing, au gratin potatoes & greens
When I tell you, I enjoyed everything I ordered this is real soul food.
Oh man I couldn’t wait to review this place. We were driving through and saw they had 4.5 stars so we decided to try it. So worth it! Anytime we drive through we will stop here! The food is spot on! I had the oxtail with rice and greens and corn bread. Not everyone knows how to make oxtail right well they do so tender and flavored perfect! My husband has the neck bones cabbage corn and cornbread. His necks were also tender and flavored perfect, the corn was made like mama always made and the cabbage was perfect! All of food was so good! The only hard thing is going to be continuing to drive on this road trip with that food in our bellies, we are ready for a nap now! Thank you for doing it right! Oh and the staff working there was so friendly, you felt like you have known them forever!
Sunday dinner was delicious, they had all the delicious sides and desserts were on point, I had a veggie plate with dressing, corn, yams and black eye peas, hubby had the baked chicken and dressing with yams. Everything was good goodttttt!!
This is your true hole in the wall dining experience. Worth every minute there! It’s a meat and 2 or 3 type lunch. Dessert separate but worth leaving room for. There was 3 of us and we all took doggy bags home. There were 4/5 booths to sit. Most people ordered to go. Plenty of food for the price. I’d definitely find this place again.
Ok (DON'T LET THE OUTSIDE STOP YOU FROM GOING INSIDE) let's get into it Sunday after Chirch expected delays enjoy some lovely conversation with others guests and ask what they like plenty to choose from it's around 20.00 a plate but it's 2 meals in one you get ALOT of servings definitely get a homemade dessert 🥧 o my they are known for southern comfort food so consider Thanksgiving without the Turkey or Ham instead you get OX tail or Bake Chicken, Pork chops it changes from day to day it seems again expected delays we'll worth it 👌 I promise they serve it as fast as they can ring it up. If you are traveling with more than one person everyone get something different so you can share 😊 trust me your going to be glad you did ask for cranberry it's not seen not enough space for everything it's been there forever and it's ways have not changed there's 5 or 6 tables for 4 people at each but the line goes around the room so if you're dinning in expected some company and again enjoy some southern hospitality from local people i try hard to go to find the best food in my traveling and help you mabey go somewhere you probably would miss tis is definitely one of those not to be missed not far off the interstate plenty of parking and amazing staff larg sign on the door our front with what they are having that day so GO AND ENJOY this little spot with the real Birmingham flavor 😊
It looks like a hole in the wall but it actually had about five booths to eat it but it does a big take out business. The smothered pork chops were awesome, and my husband loved the pigs feet. Great sides to choose from and TWO pieces of cornbread. It was a down home Southern feast. The people working there could not have been nicer!! They went out of their way to give excellent service.
The food was excellent! I ordered 1 pork chop, black eyed peas and collard greens, and my mom ordered something similar. We raved just as much about the Christian service and professionalism. The staff was so polite and patient and even allowed us to choose the particular pork chops we wanted and asked our preferences without us asking. They have 2 return customers now! The food was definitely worth the longer wait.
This food hands down 10/10 … and I’m a cook!!! . Go try for your self they ox tails so flavorful and tender .
This place is AWESOME. This is great home cooking. Portions are plenty. You rarely eat the whole plate. It says Soul food. I call I WONDERFUL this food. This is the kinda lunch that you will likely take a nap.
